About Me

Mrs. Carpenter: Mrs. Carpenter teaches Kindergarten through Fifth Grade general music at Archway Chandler, a Great Hearts Academy in Chandler, Arizona. She was the first Archway music teacher in the Great Hearts network and played a significant role in creating the elementary music curriculum that is taught today in multiple states. In her time at Great Hearts, Penelope has served as the network’s elementary music curriculum consultant, Specials' team lead, as well as the Dean of Students for her campus. The first Archway campus to offer strings outside of the curriculum, Penelope currently oversees and directs both of the extra-curricular strings ensembles at Chandler. She graduated Summa cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in piano and a minor in Spanish. Outside of school, "Ms. Penny" is proud to be the director of the Cherub Choir at Dayspring United Methodist Church in Tempe. The Cherub Choir consists of preschool and kindergarten children and meet every Sunday morning. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
